The Vancouver Traditional Mass Society Presents
a Painting From The Works Of Michael Janek
Michael, an artist in the style of the great masters, has
donated the above painting to be sold and the proceeds to go towards the costs
of establishing the Quasi Parish in Vancouver.
Michael discovered his artistic vocation when he was a novice
at the Fraternity of St. Peter's Seminary in Wigratzbad, Germany. He subsequently
directed the artistic side of the renovations to the Fraternity's Chapel in
Elmhurst, Pa. Those who have visited the Chapel will be familiar with Michael's
talents as he contributed the original oil painting of the 'Crucifixion with
the Blessed Virgin and St. John' which adorns the Chapel Altar. The trompe
l'oeil marbling on the Chapel's plaster columns was also done by this multitalented
artist.
The 'Crucifixion' which is an original piece will make a
fine addition to any Church, Chapel or private collection and as was mentioned
the price is completely donated to the establishment of the Quasi Parish.
More information on this great grace given by His Grace Archbishop Adam Exner
to the Latin Mass Community of Vancouver can be found on our website.
The painting which was painted in 1995 measures 15.5"
by 19" and is oil on Mahogony panel and has remained in Michael's personal
collection ever since.
